Macs seems to be ready to edit out of the box…PC’s often more finicky making sure you have the right sound and audio cards/compatibility. You seem to have experience with FCP X so that’s not an issue. Premiere seems more similar to FCP 7..in fact a seamless transition for a lot of folks and it works on both platforms

Secondary Color correction is still alive and well in the new Premiere Pro 2015 – just go old school – call up the three way color corrector – secondary’s still there – you can easily recreate Pleasantville by isolating one color and dropping the rest

I played with it and with the timeline in Yellow, it doesn’t seem to play smoothly after it figures out how to do the morph on the cut…however if you render just “in to out” effects it does play smoothly enough to see what it will look like on output

So far works great..although opening new project doesn’t automatically bring up the work spaces top bar (editing, color etc) Not sure why …there’s a window to open it but can’t figure out how to dock it at the top.

Hi Dennis…
on a non debate subject, when can we download the latest Premiere Pro and other creative cloud goodness updates mentioned at NAB?

Typically recorded music is compressed and normalized so the peaks stay high…when you import you can select all your music clips before editing….use the gain command (search in your keyboard shortcuts for gain and assign it a keyboard shortcut if you’d like) and lower it by 6 to 10db….when you edit, the loudness and distortion shouldn’t be there.

Actually the norm (even at the major networks) is now several years experience shooting, writing, editing, tweeting, facebook-ing, window washing…..The individual editing skill set (or pick any of the skills above) no longer valued, needed or appreciated.) Do it all, sometimes at half or a third the rate of older professionals now retired or forced out of a job, or don’t bother applying. That is the new normal.

Actually Shane 40k in Fairfax Virginia is NOT a lot of money. It’s just outside if DC where the average government worker supporting a family makes between 60 and 150k a year. And I’m certain they’re not looking for a fresh out of film school grad but someone with years of experience already
