Wow…such eloquence.
Looks like an app designed for shooters.

June 15, 2015 at 7:10 pmActually Catalyst Edit is a lot like Vegas brought over to OS X. Right now it’s simplified and designed for shooters and producers as sort of a lightweight field editor. Kind of a “pre-editor”. However, it’s optimized for Sony 4K and raw. Down the road, who knows? It’s also geared towards touch, but for now MS Surface only.

June 15, 2015 at 7:16 pmCan I just ask why anybody would think that knob icons are a good idea anymore? I hate them so much. Using a tablet and pen, I never get useful control over things like pan with those godforsaken knobs. Terrible skeuomorphism.

June 16, 2015 at 3:50 pmAnyone out there remember Ampex’s ACE touch screen linear editor? It could always be worse…
Not my monkeys. Not my circus.

June 16, 2015 at 8:23 pmUsed the ACE, but with a keyboard mostly. It had some pretty neat stuff you could do with nested edits and other advanced things. And I used to embed signal system commands to D2 VTR’s in edits. Hex code. lol. But it was always derided by CMX guys. Which I edited on after before & after the ACE.
