  • Jeremy,
Did you ever get around the debug event…cpp-709 issue? I’m having the same bug on one certain project and am at a complete loss as to why it’s happening.

Sorry Jamie, I never found out exactly what was wrong.
The most likely culprit was the fact that I had lots of embedded projects within my main project – that certainly caused me other problems at the time. Thankfully the problem seems to have gone away with the end of that particular project, I just hope it stays away.

Good luck with getting to the bottom of your issues, sorry I can’t be more help.

Are all your cameras manually controlled or do you have any locked off? I often do 6-cam edits with 2 fixed-cams so I can multi-cam edit in CS3 on the 4 manned-cameras, then 2 other tracks (above the multi-cam edit) that are turned invisible until I need to cover bits where my multi-cam wasn’t wanted.

I’d recommend this method as I actually find it easy to cut the multi-cam edit on the beat so it’s much quicker than manually editing 6 cameras (or 8 or 9).

Happy to give more advice if you want it.

Yeah, thanks Harm, I’m on that! 😐

I’m actually wondering why it’s not autosaving, in order for it never to happen to me or anyone else on CCow.

This may sound obvious, but have you tried de-interlacing the footgage that’s flickering?

I don’t think you can do what you want to do.
You could make your outline in a separate title and add it on a different layer, then copy and paste onto all the places the titles are.

May 12, 2008 at 12:48 pm in reply to: match-edit symbols in Premiere?

    Jon,

Thanks for confirming that Premiere doesn’t have this feature, but wouldn’t it be more constructive to ask why I need to use these markers than to assume incompetence on my behalf?

There’s dozens of reasons why advanced editors like myself use the match-edit symbols. For example – you may want to apply a filter or audio level over only part of a clip – it’s quicker to cut the clip and apply the setting to the relevant part than to use keyframes or other methods.

I could give more examples if you really need it? I hope you have a more absorbing attitude to the people that you teach?

Use motion within the Effect Controls window (motion is a fixed effect that is available by default). Use Scale to zoom in and then you can move the footage within the monitor window by click-dragging. (if you have clicked the word motion, so it has a black background)
