I’m wondering if I can get some help with this issue too.
The catch with my problem is, I am experiencing the same thing, but I am using 1/4″ TRS cables. They are going from the Decklink Studio to a Yamaha MG10/2 Mixer. Then I monitor from there through, either BX-5s or headphones.
I did click the “Use hi-fi Audio Levels” in the Desktop Video 9.5.3 preference pane, under Audio Levels. That helps a LOT, but I still get the crackle/distortion on what seems like peaks, although the levels are clearly not peaking.
Thanks in advance. This is my last hurdle to fully LOVING Media Composer, switched from FCP last year.

Patrick is preparing an interface tutorial, if I’m not mistaken, on the new version revealed at NAB.
But you are right, the guide is well worth reading. I’ll make a point of it.

Thanks, I am actually a big fan, and member, of the Tao of Color, and just have not had time to dive into the Davinci tutorials yet….can’t wait!

April 26, 2012 at 7:14 pm in reply to: Will Avid Media Composer 6 work on OS X Lion 10.7.3?FYI, MC 6.0.1.1 and Lion 10.7.3 are working just fine for me now. I was happy to upgrade Lion finally, I was having some issues(unrelated to MC) with 10.7.2 that are now resolved.

Well, I have managed to do it i think. I have added a quick transition (dissolve) to the clip. Then used BCC with “Title-Matte” to create a blur-in effect. Looks Nice. Once I save the effect to my bin i can reuse this on other titles, in conjunction with the dissolve.
Am I correct in assuming that I cannot edit this title now? I used the AVID Basic Title tool. Not Marquee. The “Edit Title” is now missing from the Effects Editor due to the BCC effect.

Thanks to all for the input here…I guess I am not in too big of a hurry. The old system still works right? Its just with the deals being offered by Avid and Adobe, it has me thinking of my next move.
I have to say if/when I do make a move it seems to me Avid is the better system. I really want to shift our of Corporate Video and work more o
in Independent Film, and with MC 6 around the corner, with a GUI change (a welcome one as far as I can tell), it might be good to jump on board. But at least I have until Sept.30 to decide.More opinions are welcome….Thanks.

Thanks Jerry,
Yes, I am still using it and will until I make the next move. I am a bit frustrated though with Apple, and am really just trying to get some input on alternatives. But, yes, for now, I am still in FCP 7 and Apple Color.
Although I did just downland Resolve Lite and can’t wait to dive in!
