    Which BlackMagic card is it?

I’ll share this post on the Facebook group too, and see if anyone can help.

Apologies Marcus! I’ve never touched the multi-camera editing process in Media 100 so can’t help off the top of my head. Sorry to hear Martin’s tip wasn’t helpful either, and odd to hear it all worked fine the other morning. Would rebooting, or trashing prefs help get things running smoothly again? I’m moving furniture atm and won’t be infront of my own Media100 for a bit (not until the evening I’d imagine). I’ll fiddle around then and see if I run into similar probs or not. In the meanwhile I hope Martin or others can reply some more and you get to the bottom of all this.

Busy atm, else I’d look into this, but I do know there’s a tutorial from Floh here:

    Glad it worked out!

And ta for the tip on the System Integrity Protection. If I run into the same prob, I’ll know what to do – although it does strike me as odd the protection doesn’t allow verifying a volume, =P.

You can use Quicktime Player 7 to export the clips to a different codec, or you could import the files into Media 100, choose “Import Media to the Media Standard and Codec”…and then select the new codec you want the footage in, and convert it that way.

If you install the free Media 100 demo, it puts all the codecs on your system. After the codecs are there, you still won’t be able to open the media in Quicktime Player X, but you will be able to open the media in Quicktime Player 7, which can be downloaded as an additional program, accessed from the Utilities folder, here:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/DL923

Here are other links you may need:

Install the latest Media 100, with all the Media100 codecs:

Install just the codecs (2011 download from german site):

November 10, 2015 at 6:41 pm in reply to: M100 to Premiere XML

I assume XML is pretty straight forward to look at – have you tried opening the XML file in a text editor, and looking for any obvious problems?

Have you another XML file that imports without the error, that you can make comparisons with? (If not, maybe get Premiere to generate an XML file and then look at any differences between that and the Media 100 one).

I haven’t exported XML files from Media100 before, nor imported any to Premiere, so I’ll ask around some others for further ideas.

    Looking here:
    https://www.media100.com/pages/xml-interchange-media-100-and-apple-final-cut-pro-7
…..it says Media100 is exporting to the Final Cut Pro 7 XML format. Does Premiere accept that?

How did you get on when looking at the Automatic Duck stuff you mentioned in this post: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/4/868032#868048 …?

XML is plain text, I could write a web script that converts these things if I had some time.

While Media 100 has not yet been approved for El Capitan, they have at least now made an El Capitan compatible installer, to solve the issue you were having, Cornelis.

I gather you may have been involved with that Floh (along with staff at Boris), in which case, many thanks!

    What’s the specific problem you’ve encountered…?

I’m about to try installing on El Capitan myself in the next few hours…! ^_^ Perhaps I’ll find out first hand in a moment, ^_^….

October 21, 2015 at 12:58 am in reply to: Media100 & El Capitan?

    Been super busy.

Only just got some more time recently,
and should be designing some magazine pages, although I just spent this morning making a super simple video about where HD settings are in Media 100. I realise videos about Media 100 on El Capitan are probably more relevant. I’ll see what I can do before the end of the week.

    From what I gather,
Floh has Media 100 on El Capitan, although is busy with a production and hasn’t done any thorough testing yet [I don’t speak for him, nor have any insight – I’m just going by what Rich posted – which I’ll link to, and attach a picture of],
and Rich has Media 100 running in El Capitan also, with no problems yet.
Chris encountered an error, that some people also have on earlier operating systems (see error screenshot in previous post), and so rolled back to his previous OS, after a few reinstalls (which would normally fix it) failed to fix anything for him.

So three people tried it, two have it working, one couldn’t get it to start. My source is pretty much the conversations between Chris and Rich here – that’s literally all I’m going by atm:

As mentioned, I’ll try and install El Capitan this week, and then report back first hand!
