Thanks guys. Nice tip Sam, Very Clever. Another cool tip is to use the turbulent displace to add a little more “mess”iness to the ink. I created some good result and forgot to include it in the tutorial… It turned out longer thatn expected.
One of my favorite things to do is create organic effects within after effects, Particle systems, fractal noise, displacement maps… Fun stuff. I hope everyone can experiement with the particle setting and create other unique effects.

About having both, a lot of my clients would insist on editing with one program or another. Premiere especially.

Have you tried spending an afternoon adding them to your clips and experimenting? Some of the coolest effects come from mixing unexpected plug-ins. Most plug-ins have a purpose but try to look past that and think about what is going on…

Good thinking Mylenium. The bikini dots is much like a 3d displacement effect where you use mattes to drive the 3d displacement. Then using the offset and amount you can keyframe cool effects and use the 3d camera too.
Check out Aharons tutorial on displacement maps to get info about those.

Are you matching sound to the 25p footage? You can always slow the footage down to 24p and put into a 24p comp to render.
