    Hi Dave,

Thanks for getting back to me.

okay, sorry should have told you specs:

    Mac OSX 10.5.8
    8Gb RAM
    AEFX CS4 9.0.2
    FCP 7

I capture the source footage from Digibeta in FCP with Blackmagic’s uncompressed 8bit codec.
Then usually i choose ‘export movie’ so it renders in the same codec.
I did however try exporting an animation test for AE, but the same thing happens.

So, yeah I have the latest CS4 update.
My Open GL is always off.
Multiprocessing is usually on, but i tried it off – same results

So, Im pretty sure the footage is as good as im gonna get.

I can’t really think of what else to try. Any more suggestions?
I can try upload an example to my vimeo page if that helps?

    Cheers again.

Hey Craig, thanks for your reply.

I am based in Auckland, NZ. And am delivering to different TV networks via dubsat.

I tried a few things and Quiktime player still tells me the frame size is 720*404. I used Mpeg streamclip to view it and it tells me its 720*576. So i just sent it off and am hoping its good.

Kinda funny that a fairly standard PAL setting can render a clip at 720×404.

I had a google at that video spec app, but couldn’t find it, do you have a link?

    Cheers!

    Hi, thanks for that.

I did kinda wonder if FCP used its codecs from the QT library or the Kona. When i open the Kona app, under ‘info’ where it lists codecs from library/quicktime it doesn’t show the IMX codec (amongst others), should this be listed here?

    Cheers,

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply.

I did originally post this in the after effects forum, but it got moved. I maybe should have been more specific in my question!

I use AEFX every day, and Ive been trying again to get this look.
I have been using the echo effect to duplicate many different solids, and keyframaing the motion along a path, but im having trouble bending the shapes round corners. I have tried warping them, but thats getting a little messy.

I suppose my question now is; how can i bend solid straight shapes round a corner, with the solid actually bending rather than just rotating?

    cheers again…

    Thanks for your replies.

Actually the footage was thinking of using is not keyed at all.
I suppose this is where the problems are gonna start.

    Cheers again…
