    Hi there,

    https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=apN0AXjJxQE

This is probably my favourite music video right now.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how the motion on this video was done?

By motion i mean the little arrows flying out his bag, and thru the street…

I have tried a few different ways, but most will take days.
It doesn’t seem that tricky, but if anyone has any good ideas I’d love to hear ’em!

    thanks…

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew

That’s a great video! The effects were likely done in a program such as After Effects, using a series of masks, paths, wigglers, and random motion. As for greater details on how this one is specifically done, I couldn’t tell you. I am certainly not an EXPERT in After Effects. That being said, there is a great forum of After Effects users and pros on Creative Cow that may be able to give you a better understanding of how this can be done. Check out the After Effects forum.

    Hope I helped a little!!

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply.

I did originally post this in the after effects forum, but it got moved. I maybe should have been more specific in my question!

I use AEFX every day, and Ive been trying again to get this look.
I have been using the echo effect to duplicate many different solids, and keyframaing the motion along a path, but im having trouble bending the shapes round corners. I have tried warping them, but thats getting a little messy.

I suppose my question now is; how can i bend solid straight shapes round a corner, with the solid actually bending rather than just rotating?

    cheers again…

Oh I had a major discovery on how to do this. The spline wrap tool as part of C4d’s Mograph would do this is a heartbeat. It is amazing!
