motion is nowhere near what animatte in avid is. motion doesnt even have a paint tool, and the bsplines are rather bad, and who wants to be flipping back and forth between apps, someone must have made something by now.

I had that happen once, we switched partitions and all was fine, from what we were told the partion we use had corrupt code or something so until we were all done and able to re write the drive we were to use a different partion.

did you also know you can customise your finder windows in the same way as Safari or Mail?
just control or right click at the top and choose “Customise”what do you mean by finder windows?

they(sony) have a add on that can give the 2800 4 channels of audio, lok on ebay I have seen them real cheap, i for get what there called but idf you look around you will see them, it’s just an add on to the top of the 2800.

Avid is better at a few things, but over all it’s not better at all. yea the media manager is great but have you ever tried to look at a drive w/o the media manager, you would have no idea of what you have. apple works in QT and QT is very simple to figure out and does not care about the structure of the info as avid does, you need to stop thing about effects and drive arrays, thats all avid is doing for you, as a matter of fact they give you to much info which makes it easy to throw away the wrong stuff. if you ever did a real complicated show on both systems, you would never care about avid ever again, FCPHD smokes it when you know how to work it. Oh and the color effect on the top line is such an old trick that if you use it it shows how lazy or bad (you pick) of an editor one is. can we all just stop the avid VS FCP stuff and just do the dam work.

I love the canon’s, if you could I would buy the HD cam from them thats the shit. here’s you only real problem, you are very use to using a straight run camera, and XL’s are more film like cameras. if you are looking to become a a DP or better a director I would with out a doubt buy a canon, every other camera is like a toy in the real world (music video / TV spots / and features) now i am not saying that the other are bad, there not there really good, but your looked into the lens set up you can never get away from, the reason wht the XL’s are so hard for a lot of people to really use, is they are doing more run and gun, and not beauty set up / commercial work.
so really think about what you need to film then what camera to use.

ask the show producer there is a packet they give you, tells you how to do the end credits, the fonts, the audio mix and bunch of other stuff, what is does not tell you is that if you have lower thirds or some sort of graphic you need to leave the graphic but remove the title/names so that they can write what they need in there language. over all it’s pretty simple, I do/did all sorts of shows for them for US and international, you should only need 1 international tape and they (the rest of the world) uses that tape to create their show.

I weird, i have my cinema screen in there and it works fine, it was working fine since day one with my DV deck and thats like 2 years now, i havent changed a thing, all i know is i was capturing everything the other day all was great and then i start up the other day and it say missing FW in all the presets.

everything I have is correct, as far as I know, It all worked fine until yesterday and now the FW is missing, I have no Idea.
