Well:

I am aware that I may have done troubles with ram and cache because trying to tweak this I increase ram maximun to 200% and max disk cache to 100% or 130 I don’t rememeber very well I have to check it out later.

I don’t experience problems in other applications because the machine is new and I have just tested the after effects.

I can’t use open GL because working on AE CS3 with multiprocessor enable, the software tell me that open GL is not supported to work.

Dave ok I get your point.

Just what I have read is that DPX seq don´t have video information so I have to define the frame rate to import.
My dpx seq as I have told is inside a folder that is named 59,94i. So will I import it at 29,97 upper ?

If I will deliver dpx seq with fields, should I render it at double frame rate ? So to have 29,97i will I render it at 59,94?

Sorry if I am misunderstanding things. I am new on this field.

What about import ? Should I import the sequence in 59,94 or 29,97 ? with or with no fields ?

Is there any chance that neither of the 5 pulldown choices work well ?

Is it ok that I will never see nice edges in my pc monitor because I will never see interlaced it ? I see horribly jaggy edges when I have a fast movement like a car crossing on cam.

If I will work with mask, should I keep the double frame rate in COMP to work with fields ? 47.952

It’s not my decision how to transfer it . First of all the footage must be edited and the transfer is at 30i.

They have offered me to shoot the effects footage at 30 fps but there are some others that have been already shooted and they were shooted at 24 and transfered to 30i.

My big problems is that after rendering my tests I still see the huge jaggy edges in playback even in interlaced monitor.

That’s why I am trying to investigate the whole process to see where it’s wrong.

Let me see if I have understood well. I am aware now that I need 8gb of ram. As minimum request for processor I need just a Quad core? I think there’s no quad cores below 2gb.

My main concernt is the hard disk space I need. I am not sure if you told me about that. Do you know the size of 1 tiff frame at 10 bpc created from HD SR 1920×1080 4:4:4 footage?

Would it be enough 1 Tera Raid to work for effects ? is it necessary the Raid or they may work separately ?

I am sure that they want a 10 bpc tiff secuence. what I am a bit confused if it is ok for them to recieve from me a 10 bpc tiff secuence to join with the rest of the video that was transfer to HD SR 4:4:4

What I haven’t told you is this… The footage will be capture on film and then it will be transfer to HD SR 4:4:4. They will work ON LIne at that resolution, I will make the effects with tiff secuence of that footage and they will end up delivering the final video with my effects integrated to TV channel in HD SR 1920×1080 59,97i.
That will be the process.

I understand your point but if I had the chance of knowing the size of one tiff frame I wound,t be asking help hahaah !!!

I am a little confused because some collegue that works at post production house facilities told me that the size of one tiff frame of HD SR 4:4:4 is 10MB. Hence, it would be just 18GB for one minutes of footage at 30i frame rate.

But I still think that is not as much hard disk space as it would be.

They are talking that for video you will need 120GB per minute ?
I am not sure if that is correct for this .The footage is HD SR 1920×1080 59i 4:4:4.

At your understanding, how much GB do I need per sec ?
