When you select the zoom tool you have two icons, for zoom in and zoom out in the options bar. If you select the zoom out icon there.. you’ll always (until you change it) have that when you go back to the zoom tool.

Hold down the Shift key and click the endpoints of the line. Aloso you can drag while holding down the Shift key. It’ll will constrain your movement to a vertical or a horizontal stright line.

I was wondering why is better to create that alpha channel and to make a selection from it by ctrl-clicking its thumbnail instead of ctrl-clicking the text layer thumbnail directly.

You must use the convert anchor point tool and drag from the end points of the path to convert them in bezier points. But I guess the best thing, if you need a curved line, is to draw it curved from the begining.

Set the color you want as the foreground color then shift-click in the empty space around the image with the paint bucket tool.

You can do that in photoshop and it’s very simple actually. After the creation of the vector shape, you must select it with the path selection tool (the black arrow above the pen tool) and after that you must hit ctrl+t or Edit/Free Transform Path. You’ll have inputs in the option bar (that’s on the upper part of the interface right under the “file, edit..” menu) for x, y position and for the width and height. You can also select the reference point for the shape. HTH

  • The ` key is on the left of 1 (one) on my keyboard, it also has the ~ sign on it. If I remember well, this shortcut is creating a selection based on the lightness values in your image.

By the toolbar I meant the tools pallette.. where you have the tools in photoshop (like marquee, move tool etc). The button for the quick mask looks like a rectangle with a circle in it. You also may switch to quick mask and off using the leter Q on the keyboard.

  • I guess I would do the following:

    – convert the image to RGB (image/mode/rgb color)
    – ctrl+alt+` (this will create a selection)
    – click the quick mask in the toolbar
    – go to image/adjustments/levels and move the black slider to the right until you meet the frist black stripe in the histogram. (you apply this levels adjustment to the quick mask).
    – go back to the marching ants selection mode
    – make a new layer
    – ctrl+shift+i to invers the selection
    – fill it with your foreground color alt+backspace
    – deselect, unlock the background layer and fill it with white

You can make an action with this
    I hope it helps 🙂

The solution for your problem is to go to the Internet Options/Advanced and under “Security” check the box where is written “Allow active content to run in files on My Computer”.
