Subtitles created with the Title tool are more complicated – to render out as movie is the easiest way.If you interested in a way to handle the titles as “files” to extract the text you can contact me kiel at spherico dot com.

You misunderstand what an XML is or how it works.
It’s not an app or something which can do anything.
It’s just an list, an intelligent table of contents.If there would be a kind of plugin in PP which could be used creating a movie out of image sequences which is intelligent enough to store parameters for XML – a XML would work.
Otherwise the XML just is could for saving the references to the files etc.A feature request won’t help at all.

You’re right.
I’ve never been in a situation like that, so I don’t know whether it has been like that since day one.
You should file at least a feature request.in the meantime: to speed up your job to change multiple clip colors create a custom palette.
