ITT is for iTunes only and is never embedded.
CEA will be embedded for supported languages.Otherwise follow Jeremy’s advice and upgrade to 10.4.4 and you can get a “poor man’s” burn in.

There are beta versions, which are regularly updated.

[Bret Williams] “You’ll end up with multiple “copy 1, 2” versions of effects all over the place”
And that will lead into a situation that your system is even more busy – and needs more memory.
Each instance needs it’s own memory.
One user on the Apple FCP forum had around 20 instances of the same custom template.Spherico

[Shawn Malone] “Motion Templates currently set to Library”
Never ever do that.
This will screw up your library, projects etc when you change machines/users.Spherico

[Robin S. Kurz] “Can one assume the matter pretty much has taken care of itself with 10.4.4? ????
“
That’s true. If you are a fan of the 60’s to late 2000’s subtitle styles ????
On SRT import you better don’t use colors.
If you convert SCC or ITT to SRT it doesn’t matter – styles etc are lost anyway.Spherico

Hmm,
Should be easy.
Get your your files from service as ITT, import into your timeline, do your work, drag the timeline to XTCE and you are done.Spherico

As said before using X-Title (In this case with captions) no need to export ITT.
Export an XML and select from the caption languages which one you want to use for SRT.This way the buggy ITT export from FCPX doesn’t need to be fixed.

You may have a look at my different X-Title tools – tough not Mojave compatible yet.
They allow to import subtitle format into FCP to work with FCP titles, or to export FCP titles to formats like SRT.
The tools also cover Caption handling for 10.4.x.Andreas
