    +1!!!!!!

would love to have a number of nodes cache-function! so that for example i can use
noise suppression and some other stuff on the first two or three nodes and davinci
would treat it like the new original media and stays realtime until i edit those first
    nodes!

i also love the new motion noise reduction!
(@sascha: it works for me in realtime unless i have too much nodes afterwards with blurs
and hsl qualifiers on my double titan setup)

  • it doesnt work on an imac? which graphic card
    do you have inside there?

there are like always several approaches possible…

but i would say prores4x4 is fine, even considering various generations. in my experience you
don’t really see a degradation, but if you zoom in and focus on a specific part of a frame you
might be able to see that the “grain” differs somehow on the second generation, on a pixelbasis though.
that’s why they call it visually lossless i think. never had a realworld degradation when going threw vfx.

and prores is resolution-independant, so you can still leave resolution intact.

and you can consider doing a base-grade to avoid throwing some black or white info away f-stopwise,
    or go the log way.

    just my fast two cents!

  • is the computer monitor connected to the quadro?

it seems like resolve uses the quadro for accelaeration only. perhaps
also try to check “use gpu card for cuda aas well” or something similiar
in the options, i can’t recall right now.

  • if uncompressed can’t e interlaced, which i don’t know, then dnxhd185x would really be your
best option in my opinion as well. why it is a must that the online-house cant install any free decoding
codec? and there is a free package for decoding dnxhd on mac. just google it and send them the link
together with a one-second testclip (ie a greyscale ramp to check levels).

this way you are on the safe side.

    just an info:

resolve 10 setup, one project 95min alexa 2k, no render problem at all.
60min red footage, one project, no worries as well!

(including some dpx vfx shots on both projects)

my trackballs won’t shine as well 🙁
(eclipse cx). i dont use any software, because
the mapping is hardcoded anyway, if i am
    not wrong?!

but on powering up the trackballs flash blue…
