Resolve 9 not using GPU on Retina anymore
Hello,
I’ve been using 9.16 Lite without problems until yesterday.
I’m transcoding Alexa ProRes 4444 LogC and burning in a LUT (only a couple of simple correction nodes) to DNX36 QT. I was getting around 45fps on a mid 2012 Retina 16GB 2.7 with the 1gb 650m.
For no reason the transcoding speed has dropped to around half. I’ve tried numerous variations in drives (going from a G-Speed to G-RAID) and different Thunderbolt cables so don’t think it has anything to do with that (have tried the BM speed test and all seems fine).
The GPU is showing up in ‘about this mac’ and is also being shown in Resolve. It’s just that when I transcode the red or green GPU bars are not used, it just seems to be the CPU that’s used.
I’ve tried updating the CUDA drivers to the latest. I’ve also re-installed Resolve and even tried Resolve 10 (which is very slow). and back to 9 without any change.
I’ve made sure in preferences that the GPU is not on energy saving / switching mode.
Does anyone have any idea why this would change?
Thanks
CUDA 5.5.26
