If you work with Cinema 4d you might be familiar with Greyscale gorilla. He started these 5 second proyects which is a very good idea for preactise and …portfolio filler!
Why not look at the past proposed themes and do your own projects, that way you have a starting point and have to use your imagination too. It’s better than just setting out to imitate somebody else’s project. -
hehe, or if you want to be really complicated you could use a line as a shape layer and then use a repeater to fill the screen. The benefit of that is that you could change your line for other shapes, to create a matte.
Anyway, grid with wide width and venetian blinds as they have stated before does the trick!

Dunno, but it made me think of this script “mamoworld” made, where he did fine adjustmenst to a roto mask.

Have you tried selecting all the text layers and adjusting the parameters?
It’s not copying but, all layers will end up having the same parameters… or did I missunderstand this completly?

I’d almost try with fractal noise, on a very small scale, and then play with blending modes to get the right effect. The good thing with fractal noise is that you can change scale and evolution as you like.

What you could do is use the grid effect. (under generate) set tge geight to ..well whatever you need, and width to 2000 so vertical lines are outside the view. Rotate the layer as you see fit and use the centre point to animate.. Then either use preserve transparancy or the text as a track matte, depending on what your comp looks like.

or you could look into that messy process called “data moshing” which pretty much consists in deleting i-frames (or was it p-frames?) from compressed video.
Search “how to data mosh” in you tube to start with!
…maybe there is a plug-in that simulates the effect by now. -
Exactly, hit ctrl+k and tell us the width, height and pixel aspect ratio. Otherwise you’ve found an Easter egg!!

When I woke up this morning, I had a simpler solution for this!
Delete the nulls. *You noticed my layers where all different colours? That way I can click the colour, and select label group, delete all nulls in one go.. or select all spikes etc!)Parent spikes to body and apply this expression to the scale
