I love my Apple monitors (I have a 30″ and a 23″). They are insanely much better than cheap brands out there. Best there is. Don’t know about those Dell ones..

I love my Apple Mighty mouse. I hate those mice with big balls (wow.. that was a very weird sentence), and Apples small ball is great for moving around in the timeline, not only up and down but also back and forward.

September 11, 2005 at 9:59 pm in reply to: New to Mac, Wondering what would be a good laptop to get for running Final Cut StudioWell. A 15″ powerbook will work out ok. You have to remember that the powerbook is quite slow compared to a dual G5.. but it works ok. Fill it up with ram (2gb) and fcp works just great. (motion is quite slow on a powerbook.. depends a bit how complex you projects are)

But does anyone know if this works in Avid. If it doesn’t work in Avid either, I am home free. As I have understood you correct Shane, Avid will give you match frame but not show you the correct bin when the bin was copied from another project.

From that you can >then “pull” that clip into the project if necessary. This is the “workaround” that you’re looking for.
Nah.. Not really. We have quite big and complex projects with lots of footage. It’s very nice to find out which bin a clip is from when you see it in the timeline.
I totally agree that it’s great to have reveal in finder function, but this is not the solution I am looking for.

Well, we are using xsan, so both editors have access to the files at the same time. (Hey.. you are in the xsan family too, right ??)
We have chosen to go the easy way on the renaming thing (only one editor working at the project at the same time)
