Revisionfx’s deinterlacer is supposed to be VERY good. I use it all the time, and it’s extremely slow, but looks good. Magic Bullets deinterlacer is also supposed to be nice.
Xsan is the way to go. I am working at a norwegian broadcasthouse with 14 editing suites tied together. Working on dv-dvcpro50-digibeta. Works smooth, but get professional help to put it all together. We all have decklink cards that works nice, but I’ve heard that so do the Ajas too… There are other people here at creativecow that work at much bigger xsan systems, and are willing to help. Good luck
First noticed this yesterday when we had to recapture multicam stuff. Big Bug. Happened with dvcpro50 stuff. FCP 5.1.1. I had to edit the tc in the quicktime file, cause this stuff was on its way to be resynced for audiopurposes. (a workaround is to duplicate the clips that will be rebatched, so that you can copy – paste the tc info into the rebatched clip.)
good idea. More and more of broadcast stuff is being done on fcp. I had a very hard time when I had to use Avid for a job, and I guess it’s a bit the other way around as well. It’s a smart idea to know fcp before you end up in a job that forces you to use fcp.
