  • Hi Grazie,
I figured out what was wrong. I remembered that long back I had a similar problem when I upgraded to version 12 from 11. I had to disable some two microsoft window services. After going through my old notes I found out that the services to be disabled were Windows Font Cache and Windows Presentation Foundation Cache 3.0.0.0 Funnily I found that in windows10 they were disabled by default but were shown as running. I first enabled them and then disabled them and applied the changes. This seems to make the trick. Now Vegas is working fine. Thank you once again and sorry for bothering you.

  • Thanks Bernard for your very quick reply. I installed build 770 and tried rendering. The same problem exists.

Thanks Wayne. You are right. When I clicked on the split screen view button, the color changed. However I still do not understand the purpose of this screen view button. Why clicking this button should bypass the effect?

    Aron,
Even when I have the full window for the plugin, I am unable to see the window as you see. What exactly do you mean by eyedropper? When I click on the screen button, I only see a + mark cursor icon.

Further, How can I apply this match to a series of clips?

Thanks for both of you for the help.

May 16, 2013 at 3:46 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 11 will not render

    Hi Guys,

I had a very similar problem with pro 12. All of a sudden it started freezing as soon as I hit the “Render as” button. Render window never used to open. I tried reinstalling Pro and restoring the system to an earlier date but nothing worked. I was about to reinstall my Windows OS tomorrow, when I happen to read this thread. Thanks to Sarah, my problem got solved after I disabled the exactly the same two services.
Infact, I had opened a new thread with my problem a couple of days back in this forum and was waiting for a response. Thanks again for Sarah.

When I try to render the Video and press the Render as switch, Render window does not appear. The curzer keeps on rotating and Vegas stops responding. The only I can come out is to kill the process through cont-alt-del
Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software.

Lets have you install the Vegas application to a newly created administrator profile. This will require uninstalling the software, creating a new user account, logging off the old user account and logging onto the newly created administrator account, then installing and activating the app on the new administrator account. This allows the software to make the necessary changes needed to the registry. Please consult the Help and Support Center in your Windows operating system for specific directions regarding creating a new user account with full administrator rights.

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall the SCS software if it is currently installed.

Now go to My Computer and browse to “C:Program FilesSony Setup” and delete the folders within.

Next, it’s time to create a new user account with administrative privileges. Go to Control Panel > User Accounts. Select “Add New User” and type in a new name for the new user account. When asked what permissions level to assign to the account, select Administrator.

Then go to Start menu and choose “Logoff” or just restart the computer to switch users. Be sure to log into the new user account, reinstall the program, and register the application.

Once the application is up and running you can log back to your normal user account. Now go to Control Panel > User Accounts and remove the test account from your computer.

    Hi Eric,
I tried your suggestion exactly as instructed by you. I created a new account, deleted pro12.exe and folders under sony/pro.12 from my old account , switched to the new user, downloaded and installed and registered the software. ,The problem still persists. I am unable to render even in the new account..

    Hi Ananda,

Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software.

We have communicated with some users who were able to resolve the issue by removing Windows Update KB2670838 (for others Windows Update KB2670828).

Some users have also seen this issue shortly after installing IE 10.

If you still have a follow-up question on this particular incident, please feel free to update it. If you have a completely different question, please create a new incident.

    Hi Emily,
    Thanks for the mail.
I do not see either KB2670838 or KB2670828. window updates installed in my computer from the list of updates installed. I also have not installed IE 10. Currently the version I am using is IE 9.

I installed pro 12 on another computer and was able to successfully render the same clips that I was unable to render on my computer. Hence it looks like a problem associated with windows 7 or its updates. But I am unable to pinpoint which update. I am really stuck. Can someone help me please?

September 7, 2012 at 5:37 pm in reply to: Video stutter on play back after AVC rendering

    Hi Steve,

While browsing the forum I saw a posting regarding almost identical problem as mine although using Vegas Studio Platinum. The problem was again with Windows7, 64 bit system. The problem was reportedly solved by passing the rendered video through TsMuxer GUI. I did exactly the same and my problem of Video stuttering was amazingly gone. I want to understand how this happened and has anyone else encountered the same problem with Vegas pro10e as myself and has this been addressed and solved by Sony? Moreover since my problem was encountered suddenly (the same system was working previously), I am all the more perplexed.

Below is the copy of the posting regarding using TsMuxer for solving Video stutter problem.

Renders HD fine for 1st 3 minutes, then stutters (Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10)
by Johan Potgieter on Sep 20, 2010 at 1:46:18 pm

    Hi there,

I am trying to render a 20 minute full HD clip on Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10. The rendering itself completes without a hickup. On playback, the 1st 3 minutes and about 20 seconds is perfect – the clip then starts to stutter and the sound sync seems to seperate from the video. I cannot drag the time elapsed cursor to a later footage section, or the video freezes from where I dragged the cursor – sound continues fine. I can always drag the cursor back to the 1st 3 minutes footage and that plays perfectly.

I have tried rendering various sections of the video – the same result – whatever the footage is after about 3 minutes and a few seconds, there the trouble begins. It therefore seems as if the footage itself is not the problem. (footage at the place in the video where the problems start renders fine if that part of the video is in the 1st 3 minutes). So the problerm happens after about 3 minutes pkayback time which is after about 15 minutes rendering time on my system.

No screensaver or sleep or anything like that interferes.

    Details:
    Windows 7 64 bit system
    6GB of RAM
    i7 920 processor

Footage in AVCHD format (1080) and rendering to 1920x1080i 29.97fps (m2ts format). I have also made another project 3 minutes 48 seconds in total without any problems – using the exact same settings.

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

I had the same problem with version 9 platinum, and still have it with version 10 HD Platinum. It seems to occur with AVCHD clips when rendered by Sony AVC to .m2ts files. It may be limited to Windows 7 64 bit systems, but I am not sure about that. (The few other reports I have seem from people with this problem were all using Windows 7 64 bit.)

Earlier this year I found a solution that someone posted here (or maybe it was in another forum). It works every time for me. I routinely apply the solution for every final Sony AVC render from VMS. I don’t remember who found the solution, but I am grateful to that person. Here is what works for me:

Run the file rendered by VMS through a program named tsmuxerGUI. It runs fast (doesn’t re-render) and somehow corrects the problem. In the tsmuxerGUI interface, add your VMS-rendered file with the “Add” button, keep all default settings except select .m2ts as the output type in the little buttons near the bottom, designate the output location where you want the file to go, and click “Start Muxing”. The resulting file should be free of stuttering and A/V sync problems.

Of course, it is possible that your problem is being caused by something else, but I think it would be worth trying this solution.
    tsmuxer is freeware available here:

    https://www.smlabs.net/tsMuxer/tsMuxeR_1.10.6.zip

As I recall, it doesn’t install itself in Windows or change any registry settings, it just runs from the .exe and the other files that are included in the .zip.

  • Thanks Steve.

My last successful project was created on 15th July. Unfortunately I am unable to find a restore point before 4th August. I restored the system to this date (4th August)and tried a render. The result is bad, again same Video stutter. Can you tell me how to restore the system to a date before July 15th?

    Thanks,
    Ananda

  • Thanks. Sorry for bothering.

  • I realized my mistake. I had pressed inadvertently “X” and the track had soloed. It is OK now after I unsoloed it.

  • I am not using any filters. The same video rendered fine on my old XP machine with 32bit vegas pro 10 (first version). The only change is 64 bit and version 10e running on a better machine.
