Unusaually long rendering time in 64 bit vegas pro10e
I have been a user of pro for quite sometime now. I have been using pro 10 (first version, I think “a”) on windows XP and was able to render my AVCHD footages quite successfully using Sony AVCHD template. Typically a hour Video used to take about 6 hours for rendering. Recently, I changed my computer to a Dell desk top machine operating on windows 7, 64 bit OS. I downloaded and installed pro 10e, 64 bit version. Initially I tried rerendering an already saved Vegas project ( from my old version), an hour long video,on this new computer. I found that it did not complete rendering even after 14 hours. Then I thought the problem may be using an old version of the project file. Hence I started a new project, assembled my AVCHD clips to an hour long video and tried rendering this. Initially vegas pro indicated that the expected time was close to 5 hours. I left the machine to render overnight. Before I went to sleep, 50% rendering was completed in 2hrs 30mts and expected time for completion was shown as 3 hours. However in the morning, I noticed that the rendering was still going on even after 14 hours and not even 80% complete and I had to cancel the rendering. Since my new machine is faster (Intel I5 processor) and 64 bit, and has an AMD graphic processor, I was expecting much faster rendering time. Can somebody explain what is happening and what mistake am I making. Has any of the settings be changed? Should I go back to my 32 bit version of 10a? If so from where can I download this version. Unfortunately I have not saved the executable file for 10a. Will the 32 bit version work on 64 bit OS machine?
