I got the image to work as well with Time Stretch . But I can clean up my difference matte. As in I am getting more transparency i.e even on my subject. I tried the properties of the difference attribute that did not work.

Could I use something like color key , color range to fix it.

Hi,

The difference matte thinks worked for me. Well partially, as in it is making quite a few areas as transparent that it should not. But still it is doing the job easier for me.

Ok the follow up questions is that I add an image/still as my background. It is of blue color. But the still does not show up in the timeframe , as in it has in/out points as very small and it does strech the length of the clip. How can extend the timeline of the clip?

Hey Mike,
Thanks this really does work. But the only difference is that instead of the Add/Remove button AE7 has this button called SOLO. Which pretty does the same thing.

One small problem though, the length of the film is still the length of the total layer1. I am not sure if it is only for preview and when I actually do a “make movie” , it will be as long as the in/out points. Share the know how please.

I did notice that, as in when one layer is split , it will be split into two i.e one below the other. But for both these layers a dim rectangle which spans the entire length of the video is behind the in and out points of the split.

For example say it’s a 60 secs film. I split at Layer1 at 20 secs. I get two layers Layer1 and Layer2. Layer1 is of 0-20secs length and Layer2 is 21 -60 secs length.

Now I split Layer2 again from 21 -40. So I have three Layers in total now. What i want to retain is the layer with footage between 21-40. So i delete the other two layers.
All done but when played the footage is still the complete 60 secs. The thing that is causing the problem is the total keyframe below the split. I want to remove that keyframe so what is left is just 21-40.

Hi Kevin,
Thanx again, seems like you are becoming my guiding light :). To start with I have an moving subject as an avi in the fore and a still image(tiff) in the background. I am using only two effects

a) Color Range
b) Hue/Saturation

Both are used with the avi. I have tried the effects you mentioned one by one. Simple Choker works and also some of the feathered edge properties to. But still when my object is moving there are edged lines in the outline. I want to get rid of these lines from the edges completely.

Hi Kevin,

Thnx for the suggestions. I have already changed the file format to tiff. The image still comes out as dull. I have set the opacity to 20%. But if I increase the same then the image looks very bad.

As for the audio, i can’t seperate it from the video. But all I want is when I do a Composition –> Make Movie , it should appear in the new movie that I am creating. But for some reason it is lost.

Looking into the same.
