One more input is to check your hardware. I guess the problem might be to do with the Open GL Card.

Since the steam doesnt have a specific shape, this can be achieved only by playing around. Add a transparent layer about the food items, drag a grey color line, go to Filter-Liquify and play around to get the steam effect. Reduce the opacity as required. Blurring also gives the reality. You can also use the Shear command to give the curves for the steam. Play with your imagination !

Gentleman,
I get you what you are trying to say. Even as a novice I felt the same way in Photoshop. The only way that you can also get a professional look is by editing films practising over and over again. As you told that you have watched films done FCP done in a professional way, watch what really makes you think that it is professional. While watching a film, always notice the technical aspects such as lighting – how it is placed from where the light comes, the time frame of the shot – is it too short to convey the message in that shot or is it too long – the background score – does it match the mood of the movie – does it add to the emotion that is conveyed in that particular shot, what are the expressions of the actors – how they convey it. I would summarize video editing is much similar to cooking. When you have all good ingredients – like a good cook, a nice shot footage can bring up the essence of the film. To continue, you cannot expect a nice cuisine with all rotten ingredients – however good the cook may be. But again, even with all good ingredients, a bad cook may mess up the whole dish. Hope you get what I am say !! All the very best.

I tried with numbered markers. Even then it is not there in the Encore timeline. Could someone guide me, please..

Classroom in a Book for Premiere Pro is a very useful book. It takes up a video and lets you edit step by step until you come to the last chapter of exporting to DVD Encore. One more useful book I found was Rosenberg’s Premiere Pro – Studio Techniques. Very lucidly written, makes an interesting reading in the very first place. If you are looking tutorials, adobe.com has lot of tutorials – both print and video. If you are looking for video training right from scratch, totaltraining should be a good choice. Of course, the ultimate disclaimer, these are based on my personal experience and I leave the final decision to your discretion.

Thanks for your response. The Classroom in a Book says to give only unnumbered markers. I will try out giving numbered sequences.
