I’m continuing to help an acquaintance set up a small group of videographers/editors in a remote part of the Province. They will need training on Premiere Pro 1.5.

I’m looking for useful manuals (esp) and videos which could start folks off from scratch. If you’ve actually used a particular manual, could you say in a sentence or two why you found it useful.

Any suggestions for the beginner and slightly advanced learner.

    Thanks for your collective wisdom.

Take a look at https://www.lynda.com for Premiere Pro tutorials. These should get any new editor up and running.

Classroom in a Book for Premiere Pro is a very useful book. It takes up a video and lets you edit step by step until you come to the last chapter of exporting to DVD Encore. One more useful book I found was Rosenberg’s Premiere Pro – Studio Techniques. Very lucidly written, makes an interesting reading in the very first place. If you are looking tutorials, adobe.com has lot of tutorials – both print and video. If you are looking for video training right from scratch, totaltraining should be a good choice. Of course, the ultimate disclaimer, these are based on my personal experience and I leave the final decision to your discretion.

Two of the forum leaders have competing products to the excellent Total Training series, found at Lynda.com and ClassOnDemand.net – the Lynda.com series is available online.
