  • I’d like to bring back the original question. Can Resolve work with a non-bmd converter box?

    thanks.

Thanks. I primarily use premiere CS6 and DaVinci, but I’m planning to venture into Audition & AE CS6 soon.

    Good luck with your build!

1/5 times when I first open the CS6 Premiere Pro. I haven’t used FCP, PS, or AE with my system yet.

Haven’t updated my OS yet. My problem still occurs.

Other than CS6 Premiere Pro not detecting my CUDA GPU once in a while, it has run relatively smoothly. When I encounter this, I just quit and restart, which usually gets Premiere to find my CUDA device.

Every once in a while, I experience the frame rate ramping up and down and creating jerky playback. When I experience that, I just pause and playback again, and it plays normal.

I haven’t been able to find the cause so far and it seems like I’m the only one who has reported anything similar online. Many have told me it’s probably not any hardware or Davinci software malfunction but just due to the mere fact that I’m using non standard Mac hardware. There’s probably a hack or patch to fix this but at this point, I’ve decided to live with it, until a solution presents itself.

    Hey Sascha,

I’ve been able to get it to work relatively well. I experience some kinks in playback in the color page, but nothing critical.

I haven’t looked into the 680 card, so I can’t comment about it, but for the most part, my 580 seems up to the task so far.

If there was any advice I would give to a hackintosh newbie (which I consider myself being also), it would be to make sure you have all the Motherboard BIOS settings correct. A LOT of problems stem from incorrect BIOS settings. Do your research on TonyMacx86, which is an amazing resource.

yes, the hackintosh could be the culprit. As Eric pointed out, updating may be the solution.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Thanks for the info Eric. Upgrading my OS is definitely an option, but I had the impression that a single gtx 580 classified has enough horsepower to properly playback single node Prores LT. Maybe a false impression.
