    That was my original plan actually. I just kinda assumed that it was faking it and wouldn’t look as good. I thought maybe an expression might work for me but now that I think about it…that makes sense. Thanks.

    Ah great. Thanks for explaining that. One more thing, and this might be much more tough than I want it to be. Say I wanted this expression to work but start from 10 seconds into the rush comp (as opposed to at the beginning). How would I offset the start time like that?

    Meaning what was the problem. I wasn’t messing with any of the memory settings in the first place.

    This isn’t really an expression, and I don’t know much about it, but it could be a good lead. Your best bet might be to convert the audio into keyframes and then use that to both create an equalizer effect (maybe parenting the vertical size of a mask to the gain levels). Additionally, you could probably parent the opacity to the gain and then you’re all set. If you’re even still looking for a solution.

    In After Effects there are a bunch of preset text animations that sound similar to what you’re talking about. I don’t think there are any in premiere though.
