Well problem is, I got mine in August, but I dont know when it was shipped to my supplier so there is no way of knowing if mine has the fix, if mine is before or after March….

Any advice on how to know.

Question2: would the firmware update fix this?

Latest labtops can come with Thunderbold connections but it is a MAC thing yes.

I doubt if it will work on cheaper labtops. It doesnt work on a DELL studio xps, I tried it, It also doesnt work on a powerfull desktop I tried it on.

Thank you for the great info. Very educational. So even in RAW I will always try to keep 800 iso with bmcc.

Do you have any experience with the TOKINA lens? I plan to use it for establishing shot as well as some wide shots.

Prometheus very interesting, no pressed blacks at all can see into all shadows which makes the dark movie actually not that dark at all.

I will use light meters and the ultra scopes in my rest night shoot.

My tokina 11-16 (becomes 24-35 or so), but has a fixed aperture so I dont think i have to relight when changing the MM zoom for different shots. Do I?

For the canon 50mm then we will have to change lightsetup… So basically we need to do two different shoots as far as lights is concerned because of two different lenses.

I will have lights set up for Tokina. Will run the actors through the script and film the whole shoot, then have the redo the whole shoot with the close up lens Canon 50mm at a low aperture with new light setup.

Would this be a suggestible workflow?

I want my first BMCC commercial to come out super great…. So good preparation and info is really needed.

    Much appreciated.

The canon EF lenses have a red dot where to connect to the camera, some have a white dot… they seem to work on the BMCC and say EFs instead of EF.

Do you have any insight on this?

Thank you for the valuable info.

So that will mean a whole lot of lights for an establishing rest night shot where we need almost everything or a lot in focus and film at 800 iso.

Also eveytime we change lens for a close up, like canon 50 ml 1.8 and get
nice blurry background we need to change light settings…. I am thinking
about using ND filter… any other tips will be very welcome.

any experience with night shot like these with the BMCC ef?

I did register but at the moment I do not have a MAC labtop as yet. So I can not test it.

Plan is to use the ultra scopes for filming, with a labtop. It said Mac and Windows so I thought it should work on my dell windows labtop, need a cable that changes thuderbolt to usb or e-stata so I can hook up the cam to my windows labtop. Any Ideas which will work best?

I think then I basically misunderstood that ultrascopes would be on one of the CDs included as the DavinciResolve is. I thought its a software program so I was searching the CDs that came with the camera.

Hope all this will eventually work on my windows labtop, will be awesome to film with the scopes.

    giving the following notice:

NOT CONNECTED…. connect blackmagic camera via USB!

but it is connected… I tried turning the camera on but it gives the same message!!!

    Anny advice….???
