Yep….it’s the annual Santa Claus preview week coming up!!

    I’m super excited….as always!

Wish I could go! NAB is always such a great time!

I don’t even know what I’d look for to ask!

I’d like to see where “Anywhere” is going for both PPro and AE.

I’d like to see some “transcode for consolidation” options inside Pro or via integration with AME built into Project Manager.

I’d like Bridge promoted and explained properly for video pros. 🙂

    I bet we’ll see Cinema 4d integration improved…

    Hmmm…

    not sure about markers specifically….

but why not go ahead and rough cut the sequence…

dupe the sequence…(so you can go back to the master if you need to)

then…in the dupe…lift edit out the sections you don’t need….to consolidate the cut down…

then add B-roll and or transitions to cover the cuts?

Not to make your life harder….

but can you output separate mattes as whatever codec you want?

that would certainly give you both compatibility and lower data rates….

then just track matte comp them in PPro?

I’d probably output a master at regular resolution.

Then I’d output the various sizes thru After Effects from the master…

(this would make it particularly easy to handle the rotated version)

then I’d encode the outputs from AE into whatever codec you need through Adobe Media Encoder.

If the clip you were working with were nested prior to adding any fx….you could always slip inside the nest without effecting the instance in the main edit.

that would be a GREAT feature request though!!

I think Liquid used to do that. (optionally)

    Yup….

I, too, remember that type of issue….

I seem to remember assoc that with FCP…

but I’m not seeing it now…

    Tim…

Individual assets seems to work fine?

I created a doc…did names one each layer.

    Imported.

Went back to PS changed layer styles, rearranged, added layers in the middle of the stack and resaved…

    created group folders..

    added stuff…repeated…nothing wrong that I could see…

    didn’t see any issues…

I know FCP had a terrible time with this, as it seemed to be tied to the layer order index and not the layers themselves…

What are you seeing that I may not be thinking of?

PS: Right click a layer in the layer palette…

    Select copy layer style

    select destination layers

multi-select, right click select paste layer style

for font changes, multi-select layers and choose a new font

if necessary, use groups to organize mains versus subs and so on…
