Is it possible to slip a clip on the timeline while keeping the keyframes where they were? For example, I have a clip of a push-in on a bedroom that has some camera shake about a second in so I want to slip the clip 2 seconds later to avoid seeing the shake but I want all effects and motion keyframes on the clip to remain where they are in relation to the overall timeline. I also have a transition in and out of the clip that I don’t want to have to remove.

Currently, to achieve what I want I’m doing this:
    • Duplicating the clip from V1 to V2
    • Removing all effects/motion from the duplicate clip on V2
    • Slip the duplicate clip on V2 two seconds earlier
    • Copy and paste effects/motion from clip on V1 to the duplicate clip on V2
    • Duplicating the footage on either side of the clip from V1 to V2
    • Copying and pasting the transitions from V1 to V2
    • Dragging all 3 clips from V2 back to V1

There has to be an easier way… let me know what it is. Thanks!

If the clip you were working with were nested prior to adding any fx….you could always slip inside the nest without effecting the instance in the main edit.

that would be a GREAT feature request though!!

I think Liquid used to do that. (optionally)

What you could do is to slip the clip, then take the effects control panel and in the panel menu deselect “pin to clip”.

Then, if you zoom out, you can see where the key frames moved to (outside of the new trim points) and drag-marquee select them all and drag them back to the new trims.

The transitions would stay in place.
