From what I can tell, Bridge can’t do this. I concur this is quite frustrating. I assumed that even if it couldn’t be written to, that Bridge could create a Sidecar file. But I can’t seem to make that work either.

Prelude might offer some hope, but not having spent much time there, I don’t really understand the metadata capabilities of that application.

Another possibility is that you use Prelude or Adobe Media Encoder to flip your files to Quicktimes, which as a format , do support keywording.

I’ll keep poking around. If you find anything…please report back.

In your new project…

use the media browser panel and navigate to and open your original project.

You will see your “light” seq listed as one of the project assets.

drag it into the new project.

It’s now an independent safe copy of your sequence.

Rename and work away…

You should be able to transcode and consolidate your sequence in PPro…

then generate the XML from that…

Hi Jon…

1) 890 – if they are contiguous, they can simply be edited back to back on a track in your sequence

2) 370 – can go in sync on a different track, in sync, in the same sequence. the 370 audio can go here as a “reference”

this sequence is then edited as a nest into a second sequence

3) You can then re-add the 370 audio again to this sequence and use the “reference” to match sync. while not necessary, I suggest this if you need access to audio waveform, as they won’t pass thru in the nest.

4) with the sequence active, right click the nest clip and choose multi-cam.

5) choose the multi-cam viewer from the wrench in the program monitor. Different from other systems…this actually is part of the program monitor, not the source.

Hi Paul…

Not sure about tutorials on keywording.

But I think start broad sub levels get more specific. At least they way I think.

Here’s a good hint for you.

Bridge can import/export your keyword list as an editable text file.

You can use this to move your list from system to system.

Because when you move to a new system with a fresh copy of bridge, just because your media may have keywords…doesn’t mean you will remember what they all are…and this then makes it difficult to search by.

So work to develop a master and keep in the cloud or email or somewhere you can always have access to it.

Well…that’s the magic of XMP and keyword tagging…

the standard metadata can’t possibly articulate every possible scenario.

Keyword tagging let’s you customize in ways that’s meaningful to you to make your data more discoverable.

remember that your keyword lists can be hierarchical…

sub within sub within sub key word…

When you say

are you applying standard metadata or keywords tags?
