Editorial changes from PPro don’t go to after effects.

Dynamic link is mostly 1 directional,

A comp from AE can be used in PPro, and changes in AE will show in PPro.

it is possible to create comps in AE where text strings are exposed for changes in PPro…

but editorial changes are not passed dynamically from PPro to AE.

whatever state the edit is in when you use “replace with comp” is the state it arrives in AE. any edit changes on that section would have to happen in AE in order to show in PPro.

Is there any reason why this isn’t part of “Sequence Settings” ?

I know the menus were overhauled…

but it still feels like things that ought to be together are a bit dispersed.

Here’s what you can do…

Create a bridge collections that are meaningful orgnizationally to you.

then you can take the mxf’s and drop them into the different collections.

you can even combine things from different sets of mxfs in a single collection.

thing of them like BINs that live in Bridge.

and then you can drag a drop from bridge to Ppro.

this I just tested and works fine.

And I was wrong.

Can’t tag MXF files at the Windows OS level either.

Hi David….

I think you have to have multiple objects selected….

so that you can “align” or “distribute” them. 😉

without that they’d probably remain grayed out because it doesn’t know what to apply it to…

right click on the object…

choose arrange from the context menu…

all the keyboard shortcuts to push and pull layers are listed…

OK…

So these days….both PC and Mac let you add tags to files for searching at the OS level…

You might see if you can simply use an desktop window to navigate to file…and add a custom tag to it…

then see if you can search by that tag.

I think that should work.

once you find things….you can always add them to bridge collections if you like…

I’m on a mac at the moment….so I can’t test it…

but give it a shot…and please post your results…
