Hi..

ok we have a bit of a misunderstading…

You can not apply the effect to transparent….

that will only work if you

a) want to set an arbitrary time
b) referecne the seqeunce timecode

you have to apply the effect directly to the clips

so…apply to 1, set it to use the source timecode, then copy and paste it to the rest of the clips….

hi…

While you might get the adjustment layer….not sure the track matting will work….

replace your clip with comp in PPro…

then put your adjustment layer in that comp in AE…

Premiere Pro call this smart renders…

Depends on the codec used in the sequence for fx rendering and if that same matching codec is used for exporting your master.

ProRes and XDCam Variants offer use preview renders on export…

not sure of others…

well you can apply the time code effect to the media in your source timeline…and set it to source timecode…

but that means in your edit master it would only show up anywhere that camera was the selected one…

not really sure of an easy way to do that…

is it continuous take ?

if so….add the timecode effect to transparent video clip on a layer above your cut.

set the effect’s Timecode source to genereate, and set it to match the start time of the source you want to reference.

this should give you the burn in you need on export.

OR

Adobe Media Encode has the same capability built in under the Effects tab after apply/edit a preset…

Hi…

I’m not sure…

but you might need to “render and replace” in PPro prior to pushing to Speed Grade…

On a real job, I’d dupe the sequence prior to doing this…just so you don’t paint yourself into a corner and can’t get back to the AE again…
