Yes, for example you have an HD sequence, then you can create an SD sequence and place the HD sequence into it, rescaling as necessary. This is nesting essentially.

I sounds like you want a duplicate of a sequence in a different .prproj file. My workaround would be to open a new sequence in the existing file (with the same or different settings), copy the sequence I want into the new one. Delete the original sequence, and save the file with a new name.

I’m sure there’s a more elegant way that someone with more experience could tell us about.

Thats exactly what I meant to ask. Thanks for clearing that up for me. So what I meant to ask was..
If I have a .prproj file named 01 with sequence named “light” where the audio is normalized and cut to a length can I pull it in to a .prproj file named 02 with the sequence named “dark” with those same settings?

In your new project…

use the media browser panel and navigate to and open your original project.

You will see your “light” seq listed as one of the project assets.

drag it into the new project.

It’s now an independent safe copy of your sequence.

Rename and work away…
