Neato…this is the Uncompressed if 1394?

I’ve only used premiere pro with Axio or software DV…

How does it behave with uncompressed in software mode?

Is anything real time?

Hi…

when you cut clips together on a timeline:

1) You mark the frames you want to explicitly use
2) Youe place the clips in the timeline.

therefore only the frmaes you explicitly chose are exposed during playback.

If you use transitions between clips on a single track

you will always be exposing frames that you did not explicitly mark in the shot originally.

If you apply a 1:00 dissolve as centered on the cut that means:

Shot A > Dissolve > Shot B

1:00 divided by 2 = :15 frames (assumes NTSC)

so this means that

Shot B will actually start to display 15 frames before the cut point, using 15 frames of media before the actual in point you marked

Shot A will actually extend into Shot B by 15 frames, exposing 15 frames of media beyond the acutal out point you marked.

This is why you are seeing media that you didn’t orginally mark being expose based on your marks…

You’ll need to
a) Change the alignment of the transition
b) Change the Length of the transition
c) Some combination of the 2

post trimming of a multicam edit should pretty much always be done as a non rippling event.

after you open the Avid…

you may need to open the console and use the command

all drives

a better approach might be to select a clip with the desired fx on them…

COPY

then multi select the destination clips on the timleine and Paste Attributes.

Another way might be to load the character clip unedited into a Sequence and apply the the fx combo to that clip.

Then use that sequence as a source. In doing so, the resulting clips cut from it will have the effected timbre.

If you need to adjust the timbre, just open that original squence and make the change to the fx…

viola…all clips will reflect the change.

Hi…

In Avid…you need to go to tools and open the Audio Suite

Drag the soundbite clip from the bin to the audio suite window…

then add the time compression plug in…

edit it’s parmaters, and render result back to the bin….

edit accordingly…

Hi…

with avid closed, mount the p2 device.

It should show up as a new lettered volume in My Computer.

then open Avid…

it will rescan all the drives seeing the new volume.

then create the appropriate project that matches the type of media you worked with on your P2.

Open the media tool…

Search for all master clips on the newly mounted p2 volume.

then use consolidate to copy the clips on to you local storage array.

Drag the newly conlidated clips into a bin in your current project…

save bin…

edit as normal…

Hi….

Well…for one thing…if you copy all OMFI…then you are copying the media for all the projects on your system, not just the oneyou are working with….

if you connect a fire wire drive or have the other computers Video volume mounted on you machine, then you can open the media tool, search for all media being used by the current project and then consolidate the found results to the new destination.

this will cut down what’s being copied to just the material used in your current project…
