try it first with the usb 2 then compare to the usb 3?
seems like it’s being polled like constantly under the usb3.
not sure if that info is available with task mgr or not….

In your project panel….select you clips…
right click > Modify > Audio Channels
change to what you need….
won’t change what’s in a sequence….
but will change future uses of the clip…

June 3, 2016 at 1:30 pm in reply to: Aligning paths of two different objects that also change sizeHi,
there are a few ways to accomplish this….but
if you start by applying the exact same motion to both objects….
then in your effects panel search for “transform”
apply it to the second object…
now you can offset the position of the second object using the transform coordinates…
that’s probably the easiest…

If you have the source loaded into the source viewer
and you are using the multicam viewer on the record side….
you can gang sync the source viewer and record viewer together….
this would help you I think….

I’m glad you are working again and have a workable solution.
I dunno if I’d point to a lack of DB being the issue….
but I do seem to recall the following hint for long form performance
in the timeline click on the wrench icon
if enabled..then disable:
duplicate frame makers
through edits
fx badges
etc…basically get the clips on the timeline down to plain vanilla…
see if that gets you some performance back…
here’s an earlier thread I found on the topic once I remembered…

hope that helps…

Hi…
similar to dropbox is sendspace.
Where dropbox doesn’t have an API….Sendspace does.
If you are handling your content submission through a web interface, Sendspace could probably be integrated pretty easily.
It doesn’t make files any smaller….
but for your submission purposes, the end result would be that it could probably handle the larger files in a way that doesn’t require any additional user intervention…(adding additional phone apps or navigating to a site)…Alex Udell

Hi Yotam…
So you want in phone encoding to reduce the file size prior to upload?

Hi,
You can always copy and paste sections from PPro into AE.
then when you redner out of AE making a new media file….
make sure to enable
“Include Project Link”
in the Output Module Settings…
in this way…
a clip used in Ppro can still “open” the corresponding AE project if you need to do a revision…

Hi Gordon…
sorry to hear your initial steps in to PPro have been bumpy and been unpleasant.
I think ppl’s chuckling and general distaste for FCPX come more from the way Apple handled the transition than the application itself.
They completely broke an established mature ecosystem with millions of loyal customers.
Not only that, they went further insulted professionals by introducing an inferior product built clearly on their consumer level product that did LESS than what they professionals had come to expect from the previous releases.
Now….all that has been hashed and rehashed and batted to death…frankly I don’t care. I’ll use whatever is in front of me. I fought Apple and Adobe working for a competitor in the same space…and lost…big. 🙂
Familiarity plays a key role for sure. Adobe stepped in and basically looked at what were people expecting from an FCP 8 and gave it to them wrapped in an interface and editing conventions that they could move to without much pain. Even some hardware was also supported.
Now…who knows?…Apple is playing a long game because they are diverse and have deep pockets. In my mind, clearly they are thinking about the next generation of content creators, many of whom will likely not be sitting at an edit desk, but using likely some cloud based backbone and gestural touch interface on a tablet like device where having the interface make a lot of “snap” and “magnetic” choices will be standard.
What content creation will be and why it will be is gong to change a lot. And they have a vision…that we just don’t understand yet. But it will seem completely logical in the end. Just like it did when FCP and DV blew the first hole in professional market.
So it all will be interesting to see play out.
I’m not really critical of FCPX…I’ve never used it. I’ve heard it it’s getting better. That’s fine….because it will keep pushing Adobe and others to compete.
🙂
