    Hi David…

When parked at the edit point between two clips, the playhead is focused on the frame ahead (as noted by the gray box to the right of the playhead in the time scale ruler)…

in edit* you hit a key (can’t remember what it is now) so that the gray box (equivalent) would temporarily be to the left of the playhead and the canvas would show the preceeding frame.

sorry of this is kind of newbie for this forum…

    I’ve been doing some reading….

and it appears that the Cineform Codecs are cross platform compatible.

could be a good solution for at least standardizing the source material.

    Hi Guys…

My understanding is that Panasonic supploes a tool to batch convert this to DVCPro HD….which PPro does support and happens to be a bit more processor friendly than AVC anyway….so you should take a look at that as an option…..

I think fondly of my times on Matrox & PPro on the PC….

    so much faster.

    I don’t miss the RAM issues though… now 64 bit & Axio LE…woo hoo

Apple did their own thing with regards to how they handle HDV.

    Not cross platform at all.

So yep…you’d need to export as something the Mac will understand…

It may be faster to redig.

    Hi…

    I’ll chime in.

I edit frequently with the Matrox Axio and RT.X2 hardware.
I like them, not only for their real time performance boosts, but also for some of the tools they add in software (i.e. advanced color correction and great in Premiere Pro chroma keying, real time matte keys and alpha channel animation keys).

As they are accelerators, they should get faster as you move them to faster computers, so you should always see some benefit with them.

RS-422 control comes not from the cards but from your serial or USB ports via adapters from Addenda electronics.

    My $.02.
