  • Tanks for this and the other replies. I will do some experimenting and report back.

I think running screen capture software on the Tablet/pc might work although I’m not sure how camtasia or other software will deal with the full screen/screen show mode in PPT.

Anyone else have something simple they are using?

Have you tried renaming the .mov clips to *.mpg? This worked for me when I had similar issues.

November 1, 2010 at 4:28 pm in reply to: Can’t find Analyze button for Speech Search

I have the same issue. I suspect it has to do with CS5 inability to translate certain file types/codecs, etc. (i.e. AVChd) can anyone else verify?

When I render and replace the audio – it will *sometimes* give me the ‘analyze speech’ option.

July 10, 2009 at 7:32 pm in reply to: SubClip wierdness

I’m creating a new (shorter) clip when I cut using control+K in the above instance (I usually just control-K for in and out- but razor works the same).

Now that I have the shorter clip, I right mouse click and choose create subclip.

Great, so far so good, now I have the new sublcip, that I can then drag back in to the project pane for later use.

    (Time passes…)

NOW, here’s the wierd part, lets say, I want to grab that sub-clip, I drag it in to a new (or old sequence) and change the speed. When i do that and monitor the clip, I’m looking at different footage from somewhere else in original clip…..wierd….

Anyone else able to replicate this?

    Many thanks, again,

    Alex

April 9, 2009 at 4:51 pm in reply to: Shooting in India

    Update:

First off India is a chaotic and beautiful place.

I decided to pack the sticks, a small eng light and tape stock in checked baggage and carry on the camera (Sony z7)and batteries as per new regulations. No problems with airport security either way although I was always asked to take out the camera and show it.

Shooting on the streets and in hotels, rooftops, lobbies was not problem at all. No one declined to be filmed and while many many people were curious about the camera (and me) I never got a “don’t film me” vibe. During my 8 days there, I only saw two policemen – and they were directing traffic. I’m sure my experience would be different had a I used lights, sticks and a boom.

On the downside, a lot of dust and dirt (everywhere) city or country, I’d recommend not forgetting the lens cleaning kit (do’h).

Thanks in no small part to the optics – the SONY took some amazing pictures. Although my previous XL1s was MUCH easier to hand hold. I still need to find a good solution for mounting and holding the smaller sony cam (any suggestions?).

All in all, a great trip and no problems with security and gear.

October 23, 2007 at 2:11 pm in reply to: DVDs from Encore CS3 only play in a few machines

    Hey Jeff,

thanks for the tip, using IMGburn I was able to create a dvd that plays in my set top players (JVC, Sharp, Sony) after creating an image file in Encore 3.0. Of course, the real question is why Encore 3.0 won’t create broadly readable dvd’s whereas encore 2.0 did (again, media, burners, system being equal). Until I figure it out, I guess I’ll have to do the extra step with ImgBurn.

    cheers,

    Alex

I am having the same issue. After installing CS3 (including Encore) I created a new project. It burns without errors but will not play on my set top dvd player. The same project, with the same media created in Encore 2.0 works fine. Are there others out there with this issue?
