Some do have decent specs and NVidia graphics that could run GPU acceleration in Pr, but I’ve had zero personal experience editing on them, and like Vince said, it could be painful.

How about Canon VIXIA HF R300 for under $300? Zoom, LCD, power adapter, HDMI output.
Not sure if the camera supports SD over HDMI, or that ATS can take SD, for that matter. Last I heard it was only compatible with HD signals, which means you may have to down-convert coming out of ATS.

I suspect (but could be dead wrong) that UltraStudio outputs 1080p29.97 or 1080i59.94 that Eizo can’t sync to over DVI. I’d try HDMI-to-DP, since DP spec supports a wider range of frame rates than DVI. If that does not work, I would try one of the converters you mentioned.

You may need to use extenders for HDMI cable runs over 50ft.
Would GoPro Hero work for you, or do you need a more “pro” camera with, say, interchangeable lens, remote control, etc.?
GoPro cameras can take abuse and are hard to beat price-wise.

Magma (and others, e.g. Startech) make ExpressCard-to-PCIe expansion chassis that a Fibre Channel card will likely work in.
Magma ExpressBox 1 ($829) is single lane PCIe 1.1 solution with a 2.5Gbs (250MB/s) bandwidth. Fibre Channel supports speeds higher than that, so the first question is, will that bandwidth of 250MB/s work for the task?
The second part will be to figure out if the Fibre Channel card will in that chassis. Generally it should.

I was surprised too but then figured they can’t possibly cover all bases. For someone adding titles to a 25Mbs DV video, nearly any computer will work, even with a single and old drive. For someone with multiple uncompressed 4K streams… nearly nothing… 🙂
