    Hi
I do a fair bit of travelling and take the camcorder everywhere I go. Has anybody used an ultra laptop for editing when using prem pro cs6? I am thinking of buying one of these as my usual laptop becomes incresaingly heavy!
    thanks

If you mean UltraPortable, it’s probably not a good idea. Most of them are vastly underpowered, and they are capped further to avoid over-heating. Basically, everything is going to crawl…

Some do have decent specs and NVidia graphics that could run GPU acceleration in Pr, but I’ve had zero personal experience editing on them, and like Vince said, it could be painful.

Thanks for your reply. The specs on some of these ultra books look good, i7 with 6gb of ram, would suggest Premiere should run. To get CS6 on a laptop requires something quite big and heavy; and I find after 3/4 weeks of lugging one around to be uncomfortable to say the least;hence my temptation with ultra laptops. I also want to cut down on the after trip editing of footage by being able to do the editing after the days travelling.
Thank you for your thoughts and will take my time on this and see how things progress over the next few months.
