Yes it is a big crew, you are right Peter, 30 people. But after they use KiPro their team become smaller as they get rid of VTR, DAT etc. ( lowering cost as well) . Soon after recording a few schene, the editor that come along with the team do the edit on the spot.

How you utilize KiPro there Peter ? Thanks, Great to share with you.

We are shooting serial drama with KiPro , using P2HD camera that feed 720P50 to Kipro , but KiPro doing down convertion and record to SD ( crop mode) as here only SD. PostPro use materials from KiPro, they are excited with it.

April 9, 2010 at 3:41 pm in reply to: Eject Mechanism

    Hi Mark,

Wondering how you got the corrupted file.

Here In Jakarta, our KiPro customer utilising KiPro for the TV serial. The team shoot day and night till 3 AM..and they often move their location, indoor and out door. They event take some schenes in a car. From the begining i warn the operator to have the correct eject mechanism. And they got no problem, they got no corrupted file.

They use Clips from KiPro for post, and keep the Clip of the P2HD as back up. They are very exciting with the Kipro, they get rid of tape from now. link ; https://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=9678&id=100000632741940

How come you still use KiPro’s clip as back up only ? Just curious, thanks for the share info.

    Hi JG,

I also want to try to use the old camera which has only composite output , convert it to component or SDI.. and record with Kipro.

Have you try the way…” How good is the quality we can get with this ? ”

Can we still say we get 10 bit video with it ?

Thank you for the share JG

    Best Regards

February 20, 2010 at 6:26 pm in reply to: KI Pro stops record with 10% left

    JA and GA is correct.

Just by chance i have been specialized in video storage and i also have KiPro 😉

A drive whether a single drive or RAID storage will drop performance when the capacity hit 80 %. In this case I am more conservative than Gary, i make a rule my self for 70 % , in order to eliminate problems, mainly for those who works with HD material.

The way KiPro record to the drive is the same like you capture video to FCP storage. When there is no sufficient bandwith available it just can not capture or drop frame. With KiPro, it can not record.

Other reason to have 70 % with KiPro is that, sometimes ( when in a rush) customers do directly edit on field with the macbook pro. Having 30 % empty space of the Ki storage connected to MBPro via FW800 will allow them to work without drop frame issue . I can not i imagine if it only has 10 % empty space.

February 16, 2010 at 2:06 pm in reply to: Be aware Video SG Turn On.

    Hi JG,

Yes we do monitoring with Kipro, and only the color bars of Video SG appearing.

At first i try with component down convert out put, while we have HD SDI input , and i found Kipro only provide the color bars. I did make sure every setting is OK as i have been using this way with no problem for months.

Just in case i got faulty component out put , I use Kipro SDI down converted output , for D/A convert i use AJA D5CE as my monitor is still SD analog.

But still the same result. But in this part i am happy as i have no faulty component output.

Now all working well, i can record while monitoring via SDI or component.

December 19, 2009 at 6:03 pm in reply to: recording slow mo in KiPro

    Thanks JG and GA,

Well, supposed that I use ARRIFLEX D21 which has VFR capability while the KiPro does not have the VFR function ( at the moment)

What will happen if I shoot 720p50 material and record it with KiPro ? And what is the result ?

Does KiPro still record any video ( what rate) on the HDD ? or KiPro will not recognize the format then record nothing on the HDD ?

I look forward to know this before i will give it a try in 25 days.

Thank you for both of you.

    Hi Mike,

Go a head with LHi, no doubt, customers we set-up with LHi are very excited indeed. Rich of convertion capabilities like kona 3, support both analog and digital worlds like your current LH/LHe, and HDMI In and out like the IO HD.
