I’ve solved it thanks – for info, the answer is to install an earlier version of quicktime and make sure that the Avid DV Codec box is not checked on the export window.

I’m now using QT version 6.5.2 which you can find online in a few places – might be useful to you.

    Cheers

    Hi,

I’ve just had this error too – did you solve the issue?

    That’s great, it worked.

    However!

When I try and export a Quicktime Movie from a timeline using Same as Source settings I get a pop up window saying “Unable to Export Bin” I know it’s nothing to do with bins but it still won’t export.

Do you know what that is?

    Cheers

  • Cheers Gary, will have a go at this when I get my edit suite back!

    Thanks,

I’ve given it back to our graphics guy – looks like I was gazing really!

    That’s great, thanks

  • Cool thanks,

I’ve got your instructions and will have a try again on the second phase of this project – I’ve run out of time today to get this working so I’ve just put the glow on as far down the layers as possible, looks ok but I’d still like to see your method working.

    Thanks for your help

  • Ra-ey,

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I’ve tried your solution but can’t get it to work – I still end up glowing everything underneath the Keyed layer. I collapsed the tracks underneath so I had 3 in total and that didn’t help either.

I’ve got another solution from Gary at Sapphire, well 3 actually, and I’ve got one of those to (kind of) work.

    Thanks again

Thanks for the response but nothing worked.

Bought XP Pro with SP2 and that did nothing to help.

In the end we gave up, after 5 days of trying to make a perfectly good laptop with all the correct system requirements for Avid to work, and managed to get it up and running on an ordinary, 3 year old Sony Vaio which didn’t even have XP Pro.

    Thanks again though

    Now THAT is clever.

    Cheers Michael

By the way, I’m still forging ahead with my cut and paste style of editing – I’m pretty fast at it now!
