    Hi,

    I am trying to apply a Sapphire Light Ray effect to a shot but I don’t want it to affect the whole of the frame so I need to mask of some areas – I can’t quite work out how to do this, I can see the Mask option on the effect but how do I acutally DO it?

    Cheers

    Hi Alex; just paint or import a mask clip with the area you’re interested in (or use a Sapphire effect or whatever you like), put that mask on another layer below the layer of interest, then in Rays select Mask Use: 1 Track Below. Rays will only come out of the areas where the mask layer is white. (You can switch it to use black if you like.)

    Hope that helps;
