Does anyone know if it’s possible to print a bin to pdf?

I’ve tried using the Print to File option in Print Bin but I’ve just managed to create a file that Acrobat cannot read. Icon ident of the new file looks like an ordinary Avid Bin icon.

Has anyone managed to do this?

    Cheers in advance

If you’re on a PC, you can use the free version of a program called PrimoPDF. Find it here:

    https://www.primopdf.com/

Select your bin (or anything you can print, for that matter) and choose to Print. You’ll see PrimoPDF under your printer options. Select it and hit Print. It may a take a few seconds, but a new box will pop up where you can customize the settings of the PDF, choose where to save it, and even have it automatically open it after making the PDF, email the PDF, or do nothing. I just tried it on my Avid and it works great.

    Now THAT is clever.

    Cheers Michael

By the way, I’m still forging ahead with my cut and paste style of editing – I’m pretty fast at it now!

What about a simple text file?

[Hoolio Fashina] “What about a simple text file?”

Select the bin you want to export as a text file, then go to File–>Export. Choose Tabs Delimited as the file type and it will export a text file.

Note, if you have an object in your bin selected it will want to export that object, so deselect any objects in your bin first.

    Hi,
i tried to export in .txt but it doesn’t work, an avid media composer message appeared : “no master clips or subclips were selected or found. Export was aborted.”
There were just sequences in the bin, nothing selected, just i did : Export > (not ALE but:) Tabs Delimited > ok > and the error message …
i finally made a print screen and everything is ok, but i’d like to understand 🙂
    thx a lot!
