    hmm…

Shift+Z didn’t seem to do anything so I think I’ve already got the default size set (I’m afraid I’m new to FCP so I’m struggling with the interface slightly – I’m used to Media 100)

I’ve got Play Base Layer Only, Record To Tape (greyed out), Use Playback Settings or Full Quality in the RT drop down – had a fiddle with these but didn’t help.

Clips were captured using firewire from a baby HDV camera.

Have just put ADVC on a separate FW port so it’s straight into the front of the G5 (was originally going through a LaCie raid)

I’ve just had a look at the view settings in A/V Settings_A/V Devices and if I deselect “Mirror On Desktop” then the monitor plays quite happily…but now the canvas doesn’t play!

    Thanks for replying.

All Frames is selected, I’ve tried with that option off or on single frame. I’ve also tried changing the external type but that is also correct as is.

    Any other ideas?

January 10, 2006 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Problem Exporting Out Of Media 100SW

Are you sure you can do this at all? I found this on the m100 site when I was looking into SW…

Media 100 sw will be able to open any program created on Media 100i and continue editing.
Your Media 100i system will not be able to play a program created on Media 100 sw, but the QuickTime media exported from Media 100 sw will be able to be imported and played out to tape on Media 100i. If you capture your material with timecode then you will also be able to output an EDL from Media 100 sw to be used in a wide range of online conform workflows. All existing import and export workflows, including sending to third party compressors for MPEG2 for DVD or MPEG4 for web, will continue to work as they do with the current shipping Media 100 products.

Has the re-import of your project simply turned on the psd layers in your Menu>Background options?

You’ve probably tried it already but how about importing the bits into a new project so the links are all clean from scratch?

Doesn’t explain why you’ve got the problem but should resolve it…

  • Excellent, thanks for info

January 5, 2006 at 7:26 pm in reply to: Text on Layered Menu DVD Studio Pro

You can type text directly onto menus in DVDSP but for some reason you can only do this on non-layered menus- Double click anywhere on the menu in DVDSP and it lets you type.

I’m trying to display some text on screen and flattening it first in PSD gives horrendous results, hence direct type.

Do you know which colours are best to use?
