Aaron, thanks for the fast response.

It seems the way to go, and I am very relived to hear that we don’t need a RAID array for this.
So I’ll go ahead and transcode all the 18 hours of footage to ProRes. I have never done that before. Any suggestions on how to make this as painless a process as it can be?

    Thanks

    Alex

    Thanks for the reply

By ‘media’ I mean the footage that plays underneath and to some part in the titles. The Motion sequence is embedded in FCP and I’m trying to ‘unembed it, apply the cc filters and then reembed the footage with the title moves and effects. I’m not sure if this is even possible.
It would be great to be able to create a motion sequence in low rez and then have the ability to go back and uprez the footage like one would do in FCP (or AVID for that matter)

I’ll try to duplicate the sequence with the cc filters applied.
I know it’s not a good idea to upgrade during a project. If all fails I can still go back to the old version, because it still lives on another computer.

If anybody found or knows the ‘magic button’ that solves this up-rez issue, I’ll greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks again for any suggestions.

It seems to work, however the burnt DVD doesn’t play on either player not even the Apple DVD drive in the G5. Very frustrating…

Gregory I feel for you. Deadlines can be deadly, I wish I had a solution. But we all hope that David has the magig words to open the wholy grail of Compressor by tomorrow, so we all can go on working.
And I hope APPLE is listening!

    Walter you’re a genius!

It was either the card or the cable that wasn’t seated right.
I followed your advice (and my old and since forgotten adage from the old AVID days :”Wiggle thy cable!” and that did it.
    Poof, the picture was perfect.
    Thanks again for the help.

    Thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately that didn’t do the trick.
The stripes also show on already digitized clips. They are only on the external monitor, not on the canvsa or viewer.
The clips I’ve digitized after the swap show the stripes on both displays.

If a reinstall is neccessary, do I have to reinstall allthe other programs that are in the FCP Studio?

Thanks everyone for the great input!
Since this project will not go to film, the way to go is, capture from a regular DV deck.

Great site! Thanks again for the quick info and help
