In that one shot near the beginning where there are buildings in foreground and background randomly blurring in and out, how is this blur effect created? I’m not referring to this specific set-up, or how the buildings were created. I’m just wondering what type of blurring was used to achieve that specific blurring look? Any special interpolation? Thanks a lot.

OK. Fields… I’ll check if they’re on or not, but I’m pretty sure they aren’t. On the specific example I just used, the comp is 864×480 square pixels as well as the solid, and the solid is perfectly centered, and no 3D on or anything. Output renges from a JPEG frame to a Quicktime Animation. I’ll also try making the solid bigger than the comp.

    Alright! Thanks guys.

Another point: Motion is more for motion graphics, so it would probably be inferior to AE in terms of compositing related things. For that, Apple has Shake which is an incredibly robust application.

If you’re refering to overclocking, I wouldn’t try that, as I think this might possibly result in some system damge/overworking.

    Hi,
I’m a high school senior, and I’d also like to end up somewhere ILM eventually, working on FX. So, does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go to college, and what to study? Note: I’m NOT looking for a an FX school, but rather a major university, such as USC or UM, etc.

Also, how hard would you say it would be to land a job at ILM, and what do they look for?
