thanks for your reply, so i have to rename clip 1 to 99 with two leading zeros… 😉

would you prefer if final cut would add two or more leading zeros by default?

    thanks for your reply!

i have the fastest machine available, the dual 2.7…
the “scrubbing-speed-difference” between the 2 settings is enormous!
it’s not a real problem, but instant feedback makes it much more interactive…

    hi,

    the same problem as mine.
i’ve done a complete new installation of the system an final cut and everything worked fine.
but then i installed other packages like photoshop, after effects, shake…
and the problem went back. hmm. i installed them all in once (stupid!) so i cannot identify which of them
    causes the problem.

is the QMaster stuff from shake something like a “resident” application that may cause the trouble?

tiger, fc 5 on dual 2.7. all updates

    any idea?

  • aaah! if i set the effect handling to “decklink sd” then then it’s quick like before. but i loose all my realtime effects… 🙁

oh – occasionally id worked for a while…(???)

…but now the “hangs” are happening again

well, I’m working in HDV native instead of the intermediate codec.

ok. from my understanding of HDV, final cut must do some sort of ‘pre-loading’ of the edits that are coming up in the timeline. means, that it has to load the i-frame and the following information needed previsously – to be able to show at a certain time the right frame.

so, may it be that if the edits are relatively short, final cut has to ‘preread’ more than one clip at a time and can get into trouble…?

who else out there is editing in native hdv?

if it is a speed issue i really don’t know how to ‘tune’ up my mac(hine) appropriately… (x-raid?)

    greetings
