I have a wide range of cameras to choose from, from the XF105, 305, 5DMkiii, and 7D, and lately the M. For what you describe, I would be breaking out the 5Dmkiii (or if I was on a low budget, with somewhat lessor quality in some cases, the GH3).
Beyond that, the C100 would likely be my next choice, if you didn’t need stills. ( I always like to crank off a few stills).
The 5D mkiii is giving me fabulous results, and is much better to shoot video with than the 7D. For one lens for all purposes the 2.8 24-70. But I have been mainly shooting primes, which I love.
I have been keeping the 105 around for it’s B camera capability and it’s infared. My 305 is mainly a concert camera, for shooting long live shows for possible broadcast use. But it may get retired next year.

The forum on the xf305 (and 105) over in Vimeo has a lot of color profiles done a few years back, when it first came out. Not as much action there as there used to be, but still a great resource. Not to take you away from the COW, but these guys (myself included) have posted a lot on there, and I think it’s likely your best resource. There are other, more active boards on the 305, and I think the most active is actually on dvinfo. But I would start with Vimeo. You likely will find what you are needing there.

Dual system is always best, IMHO.
But,
Mkiii does have agc limiter, but i have not used it for pro work. Not true limiter. Unless i’ve missed something.
Mkiii has timecode but i don’t believe it is in. Check the online manuals. My guess is out only. Does do rec run.
I have done dual systems with a SD mixpre. Works fine. Practice first.
No experience with juicelink.

I don’t know the answer but have never had a problem like this with card switching.so i think the problem is elsewhere. I am also running 6. Are you current on the updates?

When you say “aerial” are you meaning tiny helicopters? If so, the Canon M might be something to check out. Really tiny and it has the APS-C sensor, interchangeable lenses, etc.
If you mean you are going to go flying, spend the money on a gyro. Way better than a smaller and lighter camera.

I have to sort of agree with Peter. I’ve tried to deal with three cameras and multiple mics but it is not worth it. Those cases were ones in which I was shooting carefully staged shows, and I would simply let the sound man/woman get the feeds and blend them, giving me a stereo mix into my mixer. Once set, (usually at a sound check) I am free to focus on, well focus!
I believe, but I could be wrong, that a splitter will also split your signal strength. I’ve read that somewhere. Without a field mixer, you are likely to be dissappointed.
Peter, I’ve often shot with a stationary A camera for wide angle frontal view, and wandered a hall with a B camera. Three cameras is just too much, unless you have some real need for one more, and then, yes, you need a human to handle it.

Very nice work. Smooth. Horizon lines mostly all horizontal. If you lived in my area I’d be very likely to use you for some footage.

At what price? The new L 24-70 is rated pretty dang highly by those using it. While only 2.8, I think it’s likely to be very close to what you need. Have you actually tried shooting at 2.8 for your work? Might work out.
The other side of this issue is that you might change your camera to go with one with a higher native ISO. I think the C300 starts at 800, if my memory serves me well. That brings you into the ability to use 2.8 lenses quite nicely, which is what Canon and others normally have in a zoom. Not sure where the new C100 fits with it’s native ISO.

How many inputs and outputs do you need? It sounds like 3 in and 2 out? If you really need that many, Azden has a decent model with 4 in and 2 out. I own it (I can’t remember the model number at present). It is *not* of the quality of SD, but for the price, it is a good solid mixer. (much better build than many of their other items like mics). I have used it once or twice and my only disappointment is the meters, the old style non digital. They seem to not be terribly accurate. But the unit has very low noise, the pre’s seem to be fine.
I also use a SD Mixpre-d, which I love. But it doesn’t do more than two in. Much better meters.
If you can afford to save up for the 302, or wait for a deal on Ebay, you might find one. they do come up occassionally.

While i5 would work, buy for the long haul. Get the i7. Make sure it has USB 3.0 also, which i think they all now do.
