Google “huffyuv” or “lagarith” and you’ll find sites to download those codecs, as well as info on how to install. Once you have them installed, they’ll show in the codec list in particleIllusion.

You really need special fluid simulation software for realistic fluids, so no, you really can’t do that with particleIllusion.

Ok, now I see what you want. Just go into the project settings and make the stage size larger, or you can also select the emitter “zoom” property and make it smaller.
Either way, the end result is an emitter where the particles don’t reach the edge of the stage.

I’m not sure that I understand what you mean, but it sounds like you just need to create a larger output size (render higher-resolution output in particleIllusion) so you can move the particleIllusion-created footage around in your final comp.

I think you need to resize your video to the “square pixel equivalent” size, then bring that resized video into particleIllusion, add your effects, then comp on the original footage.

When we release 3.0.4 (Win) in the next week or so, you’ll also have the ability to add to the list of codecs that support alpha, so if you don’t see the codec that you use listed there, don’t worry. You’ll still be able to use it soon.

Yes, 4.0 is in the works. I originally talked about a 3.5 release, but it will be called 4.0 instead. You won’t see anything about it for several months though.
I’m not sure what you mean by “better support for output”. Seamless looping is a much-requested feature though, and we’ll be investigating.

Blurring or “feathering” blockers is a feature that a lot of people want.
You can make blockers use images from lower layers by opening the properties dialog for the blocker and checking the “use layers below for bg image” option. (If I understand your problem)
