It’s practically the first thing in the dialog. Project defaults, “width” and “height”.

What do you mean by “view”? Only one library is loaded at a time, but do an empty OR search and you’ll get all emitters in the search results. Click on any emitter in the search results and its library is loaded (but still only a single library is loaded at a time).

Reinstall won’t fix anything I think.
You have to find those data files. Spotlight search on “.pIs”. On my Mac the files are in:
/Library/Application Support/wondertouch/particleView Delete all of the .pIs files in that folder. Then when you run pView it will rebuild the data files.

Search your system for files with a “.pIs” extension, then delete all of those files. The next time you run particleView it will rebuild all of the search data.

It’s probably stuck trying to look for updates. It should know that there is no Internet connection available, but it may be that the timeout period is too long.
It may also be related to the problem where it won’t see any updates or emitter libraries available on OS X (Snow Leopard only?).
You should turn off the “check for updates” option in the preferences if you’re not going to keep it connected to the Internet.

A change in Snow Leopard makes the update check not work but it doesn’t fail either, so you won’t see any error messages — you’ll just never see any updates available.
It’s on our list of things to look into.
You can download the emitter libraries from our website (the old-fashioned way).
