  • That’s because we haven’t released the CS5 version yet. It will be released later this summer as a free upgrade.

The filenames have to end in sequential numbers with the same number of digits.

    For instance:

    file0001.png
    file0002.png
    file0003.png

Then when you select any one of the images to import, pI will detect the sequence and ask if you want to use it.

Just uninstall from the old machine, then install and activate on the new machine.

There’s no uninstaller, so just delete the particleIllusion Application folder. You can move your Emitter Libraries folder from the old machine to the new one if you want — you’ll definitely want to do this if you’ve modified any libraries or created your own.

You need to reinstall. Some of the needed files have been deleted.

I think I’ve fixed all of the website problems referencing the May library.

It should show up in your AutoUpdate check, unless you’re on Mac. The Mac check for updates no longer works, and will be fixed in an update in the next few weeks.

There were some DNS issues, so it may have been inaccessible for some people in the last 24 hours, but it should be fine now.

No, it’s fine. Anybody else having this problem?

Have you tried another browser or computer?

    Give this a try.

Right click on ‘My Computer’ and choose Properties. In the Advanced tab/panel, select the “Settings” button in the Performance pane. Choose the “Data Execution Prevention” tab and switch DEP so that it is enabled only for essential Windows programs or add particleIllusion to the exception.

I answered this directly in response to your email to support.

Posting twice and emailing all with the same question doesn’t help me answer you faster. =)

Also, if you’re going back into Vegas (or any other video editing or compositing app), this will be the best way to work most likely:

    1) Use clip in pI for reference only.
    2) When ready for final render, turn off bg image so particles only render
    3) render with alpha (transparency)
    4) bring rendered particles into Vegas for compositing on your original footage.
